The Hays County Health Department reports 10 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 77 recoveries Oct. 8, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,018, active cases to 1,004 and recoveries to 4,959. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 321.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 199, 537 and 178 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 29,384. The total number of hospitalizations is 347 and total current hospitalizations is eight. There have been 55 fatalities in the county.
