The Hays County Local Health Department reports 138 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 153 recoveries April 26, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 18,199, total active cases to 602 and recoveries to 17,358. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 865.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 211, 163 and 134 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 157,897. The total number of hospitalizations is 844 and total current hospitalizations is 18 after 11 people were hospitalized and six were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 239.
