The Hays County Local Health Department reports 115 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 63 recoveries April 16, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 17,760, total active cases to 576 and recoveries to 16,946. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 748.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 248, 142 and 103 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 152,606. The total number of hospitalizations is 818 and total current hospitalizations is 13 after four people were hospitalized and three were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 238.
