The Hays County Local Health Department reports three new COVID-19-related fatalities Feb. 27-March 1, a Buda man in his 50s, a Kyle man in his 60s and a San Marcos man in his 90s. There have been a total of 216 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 75 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 42 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 16,345, total active cases to 510 and recoveries to 15,619. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 1,035.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 148, 159 and 104 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 123,170. The total number of hospitalizations is 748 and total current hospitalizations is 22 after eight people were hospitalized and 15 were discharged.
