The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality on March 4, a Buda man in his 50s. There have been a total of 225 fatalities in the county.
The county also reports 23 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and zero recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 16,458, total active cases to 614 and recoveries to 15,619. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 732.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 168, 182 and 133 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 126,940. The total number of hospitalizations is 754 and total current hospitalizations is 16 after one person was hospitalized and one was discharged.
