The Hays County Local Health Department reports 77 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 17 recoveries March 29, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 17,121, total active cases to 454 and recoveries to 16,431. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 632.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 184, 132 and 64 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 142,774. The total number of hospitalizations is 787 and total current hospitalizations is seven after three people were hospitalized and five were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 236.
