Texas State men’s golf finished in fifth place at the Huntsville Toyota Bearkat Invitational in Montgomery, Texas on Tuesday with a final score of 878, 14-over-par.
The host school, Sam Houston State University, received first place at the tournament, shooting a total score of 864 over three rounds with an even par.
Oskar Ambrosius from the University of Texas at El Paso took the individual title with a final score of 209, 7-under-par. Stephen F. Austin universitiy’s Angelo Leyvani finished second at the tournament with a final carded score of 209, 7-under-par.
Texas State junior Calvin Ross and Junior Logan Lockwood started the tournament tied for 10th. Ross tied three other players for 12th with a final score of 218 (72,71,75) 2-over-par. Lockwood finished 16th with a final score of 219 (70,73,76) 3-over-par.
Junior Dalton Hankamer tied for 19th place with a score of 222 (72,79,71) 6-over-par.
Freshman Evan White and redshirt senior Logan Davis both shot 74 in the first round. White shot 8-over-par finishing tied for 25th with a final score of 224 (74,76,74). Davis finished the tournament tied for 33rd, 10-over-par and a total of 226 (74,74,78).
The Bobcats return to the green on April 15-16 traveling to Pearland, Texas for the Bayou Classic.
