A runoff election will be called as no candidate gained more than 50% of the vote. Gleason and Baca will continue to vie for the City Council Place 5 seat in a Dec. 1 runoff.

Incumbent Jane Hughson continues to lead the mayoral race, now with 45.94%, over Juan Miguel Arredondo with 31.84%.

In Hays County, Joe Biden currently leads the presidential race in Hays County at 55.04%, following President Donald Trump’s 42.95%. This is a federal race.

As of 7:11 p.m., Mayor Jane Hughson currently leads the mayoral race at 46.48%, following Juan Miguel Arredondo at 31.73% and Michael Sean Hathaway II at 9.11%.

Alyssa C. Garza leads the race for San Marcos City Council Place 3 at 70.53%, with incumbent Ed Mihalkanin trailing at 29.47%.

Shane Scott leads the San Marcos City Council Place 4 race at 54.54%, with incumbent Mark Rockeymoore trailing at 45.46%.
