The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality Dec. 4, a Dripping Springs male in his 60s, and 82 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 7,644, total active cases to 785 and recoveries to 6,753. The county reports the total active cases in the last 21 days is 1,113.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 74, 314 and 212 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 53,442. The total number of hospitalizations is 445 and total current hospitalizations is 15 after two people were discharged.
