The Hays County Health Department reports 42 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 52 recoveries Sept. 18-21, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 5,778, active cases to 1,734 and recoveries to 3,992.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 606, 716 and 288 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 26,202 with no pending tests. The total number of hospitalizations is 168 and total current hospitalizations is 11 after three patients were admitted and two were discharged. There have been 52 fatalities in the county.
