The Hays County Health Department reports 17 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 62 recoveries Sept. 18, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 5,736, active cases to 1,744 and recoveries to 3,940.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 604, 725 and 291 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 26,143 with no tests pending. The total number of hospitalizations is 165 and total current hospitalizations is 10 after two patients were discharged. There have been 52 fatalities in the county.
