Hays County reports one new COVID-19 fatality, 51 new cases

The Hays County Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality Oct. 20, an Austin woman in her 90s. There have been 64 fatalities in the county. 

The county also reports 51 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 76 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,212, total active cases to 635 and recoveries to 5,513. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 296.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 40, 409 and 113 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 32,579. The total number of hospitalizations is 360 and total current hospitalizations is eight after three individuals were hospitalized.
