Hays County reports three new COVID-19 fatalities over Thanksgiving break

The Hays County Local Health Department reports three new COVID-19-related fatalities Nov. 25-30, a Kyle man in his 90s, a Kyle man in his 80s and a Kyle woman in her 80s. There have been a total of 102 fatalities in the county. 

The county also reported 281 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 214 recoveries since Nov. 25, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 7,378, total active cases to 772 and recoveries to 6,504. The county reports the total active cases in the last 21 days is 1,071.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 68, 335 and 208 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Ian Harris, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 51,690. The total number of hospitalizations is 434 and total current hospitalizations is 16 after eight people were hospitalized and six were discharged.

The Hays County Local Health Department does not release COVID-19 updates on weekends and was closed for the Thanksgiving holiday. Information in this report includes data gathered Nov. 25-30.
