Hays County reports 70 new cases, one COVID-19-related fatality

The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality, 70 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 65 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 21,412, total active cases to 1,674 and recoveries to 19,462. There have been a total of 276 COVID-19-related fatalities in the county since the start of the pandemic. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 1,996.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 453, 557 and 405 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 197,084. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,019 and total current hospitalizations is 44 after seven people were hospitalized and eight were discharged.
