Hays County reports 152 new COVID-19 cases

Hays County COVID-19 update

The Hays County Local Health Department reports 152 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 118 recoveries Sept. 16, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 27,517, total active cases to 1,862 and recoveries to 25,310. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,903.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 587, 586 and 341 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 242,383. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,247 and total current hospitalizations is 55 after two people were hospitalized and three were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 345. 
The county reports 50 unvaccinated people and five vaccinated people are hospitalized. 29 unvaccinated patients and two fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
