Hays County reports 2 new COVID-19 fatalities, 217 new COVID-19 cases

The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities between Nov. 8-15. There have been a total of 403 fatalities in the county.

The county also reported 217 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 180 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 30,067, total active cases to 401 and recoveries to 29,263. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 597.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 106, 133 and 99 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 281,618. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,355 and total current hospitalizations is 11 after seven people were hospitalized and eight were discharged.
The county reports nine unvaccinated people and two fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. Seven unvaccinated patients and one fully vaccinated patient are in the ICU.
