Hays County reports two new fatalities, 104 new cases

The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities Feb. 1, a San Marcos man in his 50s and a San Marcos man in his 60s. There have been a total of 192 fatalities in the county.

The county also reported 104 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 77 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 15,113, total active cases to 2,570 and recoveries to 12,351. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 3,408.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 705, 948 and 460 active cases, respectively.

The total number of received negative tests in the county is now 108,080. The total number of hospitalizations is 678 and total current hospitalizations is 35 after two people were hospitalized and seven were discharged.
