City asks residents to report winter storm damages to FEMA

The City of San Marcos is requesting residents and local businesses to submit damages caused by this past week’s winter storm to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). 
To apply for disaster assistance, residents and businesses may visit www.disasterassistance.gov and select the ‘apply online’ tab to create a new application. 
Those requesting assistance are asked to select ‘snow/ice’ as the cause of the damage. Applicants should be prepared to provide the following information: 

  • Social Security number of applicant or of household minor child 
  • Annual household income 
  • Contact information, including phone and address 
  • Insurance information, including company name and policy coverage 

The lobby computer lab at the San Marcos Public Library is available from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-6 p.m. on Sunday for to those without computer or internet access to submit their online assistance application.
