Hays County reports one new COVID-19 fatality, 103 cases

Hays County COVID-19 update

The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality, a San Marcos man in his 40s. There have been a total of 239 fatalities in the county.

The county also reports 103 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 through April 20-21 and 20 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 17,979, total active cases to 624 and recoveries to 17,116. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 833.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 250, 161 and 120 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 154,073. The total number of hospitalizations is 832 and total current hospitalizations is 15 after six people were hospitalized and five were discharged.
