The Hays County Local Health Department reports 25 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 26 recoveries March 31, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 17,150, total active cases to 367 and recoveries to 16,547. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 559.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 141, 121 and 53 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 143,213. The total number of hospitalizations is 791 and total current hospitalizations is 11 after three people were hospitalized. The total number of fatalities in the county is 236.
