Texas State baseball (18-10) went 2-1 in Boone, North Carolina, this weekend in a three-game series against Appalachian State.
Friday’s offensive standouts included Skyler Valentine with two home runs and junior infielder Jaxon Williams with two hits in five at-bats and one RBI. The two combined for four RBIs, while John Wuthrich and Felipe Rodriguez brought home the other four runs.
Second baseman Jaxon Williams led the Bobcat’s offense on Saturday, turning in another impressive performance with two hits, three RBIs and a walk in four at-bats. John Wuthrich also made a big contribution with two hits, two RBIs and one walk in three at-bats.
The Bobcat’s lost 0-3 to finish out the series, failing to bring home a single run despite having five hits- the same amount as Appalachian State.
Texas State gets back in action against UTSA at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Bobcat Ballpark in San Marcos.
