The Hays County Local Health Department reports three new COVID-19-related fatalities Sept. 22, a woman from Kyle in her 40s, a woman from San Marcos in her 50s, and a man from San Marcos in his 70s. There have been a total of 356 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 128 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 25,968 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 28,020, total active cases to 1,696 and recoveries to 25,968. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,507.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 517, 533 and 282 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 248,667. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,271 and total current hospitalizations is 44 after one person was hospitalized and five were discharged.
The county reports 38 unvaccinated people and six fully vaccinated people are hospitalized. 30 unvaccinated patients and one fully vaccinated patient are in the ICU.
