The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities on Feb. 9, a Buda woman in her 70s and a Wimberley man in his 70s, the total number of fatalities is 200.
The county also reports 114 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 565 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 15,709, total active cases to 1,632 and recoveries to 13,877. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 3,236.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 413, 602 and 304 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 114,119. The total number of hospitalizations is 705 and total current hospitalizations is 37 after 11 people were hospitalized and seven were discharged.
