Local business robbed at gunpoint, suspect in custody

The San Marcos Police Department responded Monday afternoon to an aggravated robbery at Planet K at 910 North IH-35. The suspect, Abraham Barrera, 19, is in custody.
Witnesses informed police the store was robbed at gunpoint and described the suspect as a Hispanic male wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants and a dark bandana over his face.
Due to witness accounts, Police located the tan-colored suburban the suspect used to flee the scene on the 800 block of Sturgeon. While surveilling the vehicle Barrera, approached the suburban and was seen entering a residence, where he was then apprehended.
Barrera was arrested on a charge of aggravated robbery and theft of a firearm. SMPD searched the residence and found evidence related to the robbery as well as the firearm used, which was determined by authorities to be stolen.
Barrera had a warrant out for his arrest due to violating probation and is currently at the Hays County Jail with no bond due to the probation violation.
