Hays County reports one new COVID-19 fatality, 104 new cases

The Hays County Local Health Department reports one new COVID-19-related fatality Nov. 14-16, a Kyle man in his 60s. There have been 92 fatalities in the county. 

The county also reports 104 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 12 recoveries Nov. 16, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,720, total active cases to 602 and recoveries to 6,026. The county reports the total active cases in the last 21 days is 726.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 94, 237 and 157 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 42,986. The total number of hospitalizations is 403 and total current hospitalizations is six after two patients were admitted and five individuals were discharged. 

The Hays County Local Health Department does not release weekend COVID-19 updates. Information in this story includes data collected by the health department Nov. 14 and 15.
