Nichols’ finals week schedule sits on her living room table, Sunday, Dec. 8, 2019, at her home in San Marcos, Texas. With a strict school and work schedule, Nichols only has time to study in the evening and on weekends. “I know college is important,” Nichols said. “I have the opportunity to (attend college), so I would never throw it away.”
