The Hays County Local Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities Feb. 4, a Buda man in his 50s and a San Marcos man in his 40s. There have been a total of 195 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 119 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 33 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 15,285, total active cases to 2,000 and recoveries to 13,090. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 3,067.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 535, 737 and 356 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 109,831 . The total number of hospitalizations is 694 and total current hospitalizations is 39 after eight people were hospitalized and nine were discharged.
