The Hays County Local Health Department reports four new COVID-19-related fatalities Feb. 1, a San Marcos man in his 50s, a San Marcos woman in her 90s, a Kyle woman in her 80s and a Kyle man in his 50s. There have been a total of 190 fatalities in the county.
The county also reported 317 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 56 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 15,009, total active cases to 2,545 and recoveries to 12,274. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 3,869.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 708, 936 and 447 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 107,181. The total number of hospitalizations is 676 and total current hospitalizations is 40 after 22 people were hospitalized and 19 were discharged.
