Hays County reports five new COVID-19 cases, 27 recoveries

The Hays County Health Department reports five new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 27 recoveries Oct. 2, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 5,951, active cases to 1,277 and recoveries to 4,619. The total active cases in the last 21 days is 383.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 328, 630 and 212 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 27,207. The total number of hospitalizations is 345 and total current hospitalizations is 9 after one individual was admitted. There have been 55 fatalities in the county.
