The Hays County Health Department reports six new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 77 recoveries Oct. 1, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 5,946, active cases to 1,299 and recoveries to 4,592. The total active cases in the last 21 days is 386.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 344, 633 and 214 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 27,020. The total number of hospitalizations is 344 and total current hospitalizations is 8. There have been 55 fatalities in the county.
