Hays County reports two new COVID-19 cases, three more recover

The Hays County Local Health Department reported two new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 167 as the total active cases decreased to 67.
As of 4 p.m. May 1, three more cases recovered and are out of quarantine, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 99. Since yesterday, 31 negative test results were received, bringing the total number of negative lab test results to 1,634, with 15 tests still pending.
The current number of hospitalizations remains at five, and there has been a total of one COVID-19-related fatality in the county.
Kyle and San Marcos remain the cities with the highest number of active cases at 32 and 17, respectively.
