Hays County reports 271 new COVID-19 cases

Hays County COVID-19 update

The Hays County Local Health Department reports 271 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 259 recoveries Sept. 14, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 27,213, total active cases to 1,871 and recoveries to 25,002. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 2,964.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 581, 579 and 353 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 239,377. The total number of hospitalizations is 1,241 and total current hospitalizations is 57 after two people were hospitalized and six were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 340. 
The county reports 55 unvaccinated people and two vaccinated people are hospitalized. 30 unvaccinated patients and zero fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
