Hays County reports 116 new COVID-19 cases

Hays County COVID-19 Update

The Hays County Local Health Department reports 116 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 150 recoveries April 17-19, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 17,876, total active cases to 542 and recoveries to 17,096. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 759.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 230, 131 and 97 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 154,073. The total number of hospitalizations is 826 and total current hospitalizations is 14 after eight people were hospitalized and seven were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 283.
