The Hays County Health Department reports 66 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 71 recoveries Oct. 24-26, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,353, active cases to 505 and recoveries to 5,762. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 316.
There have been a total of 86 fatalities in the county. The local health department recently added 22 new fatalities to the dashboard after the Texas Department of State Health Services implemented a new system for reporting COVID-19-related fatalities in the state.
San Marcos, Dripping Springs, Kyle and Buda have 32, 31, 303 and 103 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 34,559. The total number of hospitalizations is 370 and total current hospitalizations is 11 after four new patients were admitted and two patients were discharged.
