The Texas State track and field team recorded solid finishes across three meets in California over the weekend in the Pacific Coast Invitational, the Mt. SAC Relays and the Bryan Clay Invitational.
Pacific Coast Invitational
Elisabet Runarsdottir won gold in the women’s hammer throw with a mark of 70.96 meters. Following closely behind Runarsdottir, Lara Roberts placed second with a mark of 66.18 meters.
The Bobcats put together a strong showing in the women’s javelin. Charlize Goody captured first place with a mark of 48.14 meters. Hannah Kemele also found the podium with a mark of 46.94 meters, and McKenah Sears finished fourth with a throw of 44.22 meters.
Manfred Mannamaa recorded a sixth-place finish in the hammer throw with a mark of 64.52 meters.
Mt. SAC Relays
Bostyn Baskin earned gold in the women’s high jump. She recorded a mark of 1.65 meters.
Cassandra Rendon took home gold in the women’s discus with a mark of 52.54 meters, while Arveyon Davis collected a gold medal in the men’s 110-meter hurdles with a blistering time of 14.08 seconds.
Runarsdottir, who collected her second gold medal of the weekend, finished in first place in the women’s elite hammer throw with a mark of 72.89 meters. Her throw ranks second in the NCAA and third in program history.
Roberts made an appearance alongside Runarsdottir at the podium with a mark of 66.64 meters.
Adam Carter finished in the top five of both the shot put and discus events. Carter placed second in the shot put with a mark of 17.64 meters and fifth in the discus with a throw of 51.85 meters. Hannah Kemele recorded a third-place finish in the women’s shot put with a throw of 14.71 meters.
Daniel Strooh finished in seventh place in the men’s elite discus throw with a mark of 56.99 meters.
In the men’s long jump, Giovanni Walker placed third with a mark of 7.56 meters. Isaiah Kayembe finished eighth with a jump of 7.13 meters.
Tpshehang Dankuru found success in the men’s elite high jump, clearing 2.15 meters and placing fifth. In the women’s high jump, Chinenye Uzoh recorded a clearance of 1.70 meters to earn sixth place.
On the track, Ja’Shaun Lloyd placed second in the elite section of the men’s 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.42 seconds. The time was wind-aided and ranks third in Texas State history.
Drew Donley finished in seventh place in the men’s 100-meter sprint with a time of 10.47 seconds.
Bryan Clay Invitational
Jack Deelman recorded a personal best time of 14:30.49 in the men’s 5000 meters. Deelman ranks fifth in program history in the event.
Alexia Macias finished 19th in the women’s 1500 meters with a time of 4:27.39.

The Bobcats look ahead to the Rice University-hosted J. Fred Duckett Twilight in Houston, Texas, on Saturday, April 25.
