From acquiring multiple All-America honors to earning another national championship, Texas State Track and Field put the finishing touches on a decorated season by competing at the 2026 NCAA Outdoor Championships this past week at Hayward Field in Eugene, Ore.
Senior Elisabet Runarsdottir headlined the Bobcat’s outdoor championship appearance by winning a championship in the women’s hammer throw for the second straight year personal best mark of 73.19 meters.
Runarsdottir is the second athlete in Texas State history to win multiple NCAA national championships and earned a First Team All-America award in the process.
Junior Lara Roberts, who also competes in the hammer throw, finished in sixth place with a throw of 69.05 meters. Roberts secured First Team All-America honors with her performance as well.
Senior decathlon athlete Easton Hammond earned Second Team All-America honors after a 7,360 point performance. The honor puts a ribbon on the season that Hammond put together, featuring a Sun Belt Conference decathlon title.
Sophomore Charlize Goody concluded her breakout season with a throw of 48.33 meters to earn 22nd place in the women’s javelin.
Aiden Hayes closed out his Bobcat career with a ninth place finish in the high jump event, clearing 2.16 meters. He earned a Second Team All-America honor for his efforts and leaves behind a lasting legacy as one of the most prolific high jumpers to attend Texas State.
On the track, freshman Ja’Shaun Lloyd and senior Drew Donley concluded their seasons on opposite sides of the spectrum.
For Donley, his successful collegiate career wrapped up after a 19th place finish stopping the clock at 20.76 seconds in the 200-meter semifinal. Donley, a former dual-sport athlete, established new school records in both the 100 and 200-meter sprint events.
Lloyd’s promising young career is just beginning after finishing 15th in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 13.45 seconds. The Sun Belt Freshman of the Year captured conference titles in both the 100-meters and 110-meter hurdles while setting school records in the events as well.
With that, Texas State Track and Field’s season, and the university’s as a whole, officially concluded 2025-26 play. While the program will celebrate their recent success, the university will prepare to embark on a new era in just a few short weeks when the Bobcats officially join the Pac-12 Conference on July 1.
