As the Texas State Bobcats sit just months away from officially embarking on a new era, the long-anticipated full schedule released late Wednesday night.
The Pac-12 Conference formally announced the release of the 2026 football schedule, which includes a variety of information from where the location of the conference championship will take place to a Week 13 flex matchup.
This is how the Bobcats inaugural Pac-12 season will shape up.
Out-of-Conference
Texas State will start the season with a four-game stretch that’s all within the Lone Star State. They will first debut the Pac-12 patch with a visit to Darrell K. Royal – Texas Memorial Stadium in Austin to face the Texas Longhorns for the first time since 1930 on Sept. 5.
From there, they will host three straight games in San Marcos. The I-35 Showdown against the UTSA Roadrunners on Sept. 12 will be the home opener, with a Week three showdown against the North Texas Mean Green on Sept. 19.
They will finish off the month when Texas State head coach G.J. Kinne’s former team, the Incarnate Word Cardinals, come to visit on Sept. 26.
The Conference Slate
Texas State will exit the state for the first time of the 2026 season when they head to the birthplace of California, taking on the San Diego State Aztecs at Snapdragon Stadium on Oct. 3.
They will return home following a bye week on either Oct. 15 or 17 to begin a two-game home slate, with the first home game against an in-conference opponent featuring the Colorado State Rams. Following the Rams, the Utah State Aggies will come to rumble on Oct. 24.
The Bobcats will quickly shift gears and head north to face the Boise State Broncos on their iconic blue turf at Albertsons Stadium in a Halloween showdown. Promptly after, they will move to the Pacific Northwest and head to Corvallis, Ore. to go head-to-head against the Oregon State Beavers at Reser Stadium on Nov. 7.
Texas State will return home to take on the Fresno State Bulldogs on Nov. 14 with the Washington State Cougars rolling in shortly after on Nov. 21.
The last game of the regular season in Week 13, as determined by the conference, will be a home-and-home flex with another in-conference opponent. The projected matchup for Texas State is currently a trip to Fort Collins, Colo. in a rematch against the Rams on Nov. 28.
The flex week is designed to ensure that each Pac-12 member will play four home-and-away games against each other.
The Pac-12 flex week, however, could easily change as the conference has the right to adjust matchups ‘based on the best interests of the league’, which include College Football Playoff considerations according to the Pac-12 press release.
The Conference Championship game is set to be played at the home venue of the highest seed, taking place on Dec. 4 and will be broadcasted on CBS and streamed on Paramount+. The title game matchup will be determined after Week 12 concludes, with the flex week having no impact on the potential matchups.
All Texas State games will have a determined starting time later this year, where games will be featured on one of the Pac-12 media partners consisting of CBS, USA Network and the CW.
