The Student Supreme Court, decided with a 5-2 vote, to uphold the Election Board’s decision in the Nieves-Sears v. Boreing-Becerra appeal.
John Garcia, chief justice of the Student Supreme Court, said the offering of a cabinet position is not in direct violation of the code.
“The code states that bribery, offering something of value for a vote, is against the code, whether it happened or not, support is one thing a vote is another,” Garcia said.
