Sewell Park, Flowers Hall, Alkek Library, and the Supple Science Building are just a few locations at Texas State widely known and occupied by students. The building locations are ingrained in the minds of students who have spent their collegiate careers rushing through the Quad to get to class on time, but the history behind the buildings’ names are not always common knowledge.
In this audio story, multimedia reporters Hannah Thompson and Michele DuPont discuss the histories of the four locations and the people they are named after.
The research for this audio story was gleaned through the Texas State University website, University Libraries Research Guides, the University Archives and obituaries.
