Hays County reports 3 new COVID-19 fatalities, 470 new COVID-19 cases

Note: Due to technical difficulties, the Hays County Local Health Department was not able to provide a complete update. 

The Hays County Local Health Department reports three new COVID-19-related fatalities Jan. 14, a Buda man in his 80s, a Wimberley man over 100 and a San Marcos man in his 60s

The county also reported 470 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 39,649 and total active cases to 6,771.

The total number of hospitalizations is 1,474 and total current hospitalizations is 22 after 12 people were hospitalized and 12 people was discharged.
The county reports 14 unvaccinated people and eight fully vaccinated persons are hospitalized. Five unvaccinated and four fully vaccinated patients are in the ICU.
