Rob McClelland has been elected to represent the Republican Party against democratic representative Angie Unger in the Nov. elections.
For the republican ballot, McClelland, who is currently a trustee on the Dripping Springs ISD Board, received 66.12% of the vote (4,368 votes), while the opponent, Wm. Travis Crow, who is currently City Council Place 4 for Dripping Springs, received 33.88% of the vote (2,238 votes).
For the democratic ballots, Angie Unger, who is currently a realtor, received 50.56% of the vote (3,864 votes), while the opponent, Laurie Brown, who is currently a graduate advisor and lecturer in the Accounting Department at Texas State, received 49.44% of the vote (3,779 votes).
McClelland wrote to The Star that he is proud to serve Hays County as the republican nominee for County Commissioner.
“While we must now prepare for November, I want to take this moment to express gratitude for the tremendous support this community showed with their time, their finances and their votes,” McClelland wrote.
McClelland and Unger will face each other on Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2026.
Angie Unger did not respond to a request for comment from The University Star.
