The Hays County Local Health Department reports 26 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 75 new recoveries on March 16, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 16,784, total active cases to 441 and recoveries to 16,111.

The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 752. San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 142, 104 and 93 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 136,918. The total number of hospitalizations is 768 and total current hospitalizations is six after one person was hospitalized and five were discharged.
