According to a Facebook post from San Marcos Emergency Services, CenterPoint Gas is working on a gas leak near Wilson Street and San Antonio Street.
Russell Wilde, San Marcos public safety communications specialist, said at least one home was evacuated and others were advised to stay inside.
“The line was hit by a utilities contractor, and CenterPoint is handling the repair,” Wilde said. “The repair should be complete in an hour or two.”
Anyone near the area is cautioned to stay inside and avoid opening doors or windows. Residents are encouraged to avoid the area if possible.
