San Marcos Police Department is investigating several reports of gunshots at Copper Beech, according to Public Safety Communications Specialist Russell Wilde.
No injuries were reported, and the suspect has not been located. Wilde said it appeared that no one was hit.
An officer on the scene confirmed multiple bullet casings were found between buildings 4 and 5.
Witness Gavin Glover, communications junior, said he was one of the first people to call the police.
Glover said he heard five to six gunshots outside of his apartment around 5:40 p.m., and that SMPD put up police tape at 6 p.m. blocking off the parking lot between the buildings.
SMPD took down the police tape at 6:34 p.m.
Anyone with information about the suspect is encouraged to contact SMPD at 512-753-2108.
This is a developing story. The University Star will provide updates as they become available.
