Second murder-suicide hits San Marcos

Two Texas State students were found dead after an apparent murder-suicide.
Matthew Bond Pfluger  (10/18/94) and Connor Patrick Shannon (11/22/94) were found by another friend of theirs dead May 5. At approximately 9:30 a.m., San Marcos Police arrived at the 1400 block of Highland Drive to investigate.
Police arrived at the scene, the residence of the two deceased, and found one of the males inside the residence with multiple gunshot wounds and the second male in the backyard from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Next of kin has been notified.
The investigation indicates that shot Shannon and attempted to kill himself with a knife. After unsuccessfully attempting suicide, he went into the backyard and shot himself in the head.
This is the fourth homicide of 2019 investigated by the San Marcos Police Department and the second murder-suicide incident.
