Texas State sophomore pitcher Zeke Wood (34) throws the ball at the waiting BYU player at bat, Monday, Feb. 22, 2021, at Bobcat Ballpark. The Bobcats won 11-6.

Texas State baseball (3-2) will play the Sacramento State University Hornets (1-2) in a three-game series from Feb. 27-28, according to a Feb. 25 statement by the university.

The addition comes after the Bobcats and Hornets had both of their weekend series canceled due to COVID-19 protocols.

This will be the second-ever series between both teams. The last matchup was in 2013 where the Bobcats lost in a three-game sweep.

The Bobcats will start the series with a doubleheader beginning at 4 p.m. on Feb. 27 and will finish by playing a matinee at 1 p.m. on Feb. 28. The series will be streamed on the WAC Digital Network.
