Texas State softball has postponed its season-opening series against the Texas Tech University Red Raider due to the potential of inclement weather in the San Marcos area, according to a Feb. 11 statement from the university.

The matchup was supposed to be a three-game series scheduled from Feb. 13-14. Both teams look to reschedule the contest for a later date.

In its next outing, Texas State will head out to Arlington, Texas, to play in the Maverick Classic from Feb. 20-21, hosted by the University of Texas at Arlington.

The Bobcats will face Abilene Christian University at 9 a.m. and Wichita State University at 2 p.m. on Feb. 20, before taking on the University of Arkansas at 10 a.m. and Wichita State again at 12:30 p.m. on Feb. 21.
