The Hays County Local Health Department reports 62 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 114 recoveries Feb. 24, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 16,182, total active cases to 539 and recoveries to 15,434. The county reports the total active cases in the past 21 days is 1,205.
San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 176, 187 and 81 active cases, respectively.
According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 120,547. The total number of hospitalizations is 733 and total current hospitalizations is 26 after seven people were hospitalized and six were discharged. The total number of fatalities in the county is 209.
