UPDATE: Kyle officer found dead in San Marcos apartment from apparent self-inflicted wound

A Kyle police officer was found dead in a San Marcos apartment parking lot, Sunday, Sept. 16 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to city officials.
Kyle Police Department officer Fernando Solis, 28, was found in his vehicle in the parking lot of the Asbury Place Apartments, located on Wonder World Drive off I-35.
The San Marcos Police Department found the body around 5 p.m Sunday and contacted Kyle police around 6 p.m.
“Our deepest condolences go out to Officer Solis’ family and to the entire Kyle Police Department,” San Marcos Chief of Police Chase Stapp said.
