Hays County reports two new COVID-19 fatalities, 21 new cases

The Hays County Health Department reports two new COVID-19-related fatalities Oct. 16, a San Marcos man in his 50s and a Kyle woman in her 90s. 

The county also reports 21 new lab-confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 73 recoveries, bringing the total number of cases in the county to 6,155, total active cases to 727 and recoveries to 5,367. Total active cases in the last 21 days is 323.

San Marcos, Kyle and Buda have 76, 437 and 133 active cases, respectively.

According to Epidemiologist Eric Schneider, the total number of received negative tests in the county is now 31,511. The total number of hospitalizations is 355 and total current hospitalizations is six.
